After learning it was Childhood Cancer Awareness month, Matt Jeffery, our webmaster and Brightbulb Design CEO decided it would be good to hold some sort of event to mark the month and help raise awareness of childhood cancer. He spoke to his brother Peter Jeffery, Bembridge Welcome store manager who has been very pro active within the Bembridge community in raising money for different charities over the year.
Matt and Pete organised a fundraising day on the 23rd September at the Bembridge Welcome store on behalf of The Caring Cancer Trust. Staff members dressed in Kids2Go shirts throughout the day, Caring Cancer Trust buckets were placed on the tills and newly designed awareness leaflets were placed around the shop to raise awareness of the great work that Kids2Go are doing for kids on the Island.
The day raised £85 for the Caring Cancer Trust, equivalent to accommodation for a local child suffering from cancer on Caring Cancer Trust’s Healing Holiday of Adventure next year.
Matt Jeffery said “It is great to see small businesses on the Island getting involved and helping charities like the Caring Cancer Trust do the fantastic work they do. Every fundraising effort that is made really does help”
Kds2Go help kids suffering from childhood cancer regain their self-confidence and re-ignite their passion for life after the trauma and suffering caused by their illness.
